Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
Text entered into a search tool is sent to the outside provider operating that tool. We do not keep a separate log of the names or case numbers submitted through those tools.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you email us, we retain the message to respond. It is not shared outside our organization unless disclosure is legally required.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers and service providers may receive technical visit data, including an IP address, browser and device details, page requests, referrer information, and timestamps.
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies and analytics can measure site use and performance. Browser settings may limit cookies, although some functions may work differently when cookies are blocked.
What We Do With This Data
Technical and contact data may be used to operate, protect, troubleshoot, and improve the resource; deliver a search request to its provider; measure aggregate use; and support advertising that may be interest-based.
No Court-Record Data on File
Defiance County Court Docket does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case records. It provides routing information for Defiance County court custodians. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA, and visitor data is not assembled into reports about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. A query submitted there is handled under the partner's privacy policy and retention practices, which we do not control. Review that policy before submitting information.
Links to Other Websites
Links to court, clerk, and other external resources lead to systems with their own privacy practices. Their policies govern after you leave this resource. Advertising providers may also measure activity on their own systems for advertising purposes.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Information can be processed by the search provider chosen by a visitor, analytics and advertising services used for the resource, or a public authority when a valid legal demand requires disclosure.
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect data we collect, but no internet service can guarantee complete security against every unauthorized event.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If such information is brought to our attention, we will take reasonable steps to remove it.
Your Data Rights
You may ask about personal information held from a direct message, request a correction, or ask that it be deleted where appropriate. Court-record access is not controlled by this policy: Ohio's Public Records Act, R.C. 149.43, the court-record provisions in R.C. 2303.901, and applicable court rules govern access to official court material.
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy when practices change. The revised text will be posted here.
